Some days, my desk is filled with sketchbooks, open tabs on my laptop, brushes, and a lukewarm cup of coffee. Other days, it looks exactly the same — but I can’t seem to do anything.
Living from your art sounds beautiful. And it is, sometimes. You get to create, to work from home, to shape something that’s truly yours. But what you don’t always see is the other side: The uncertainty. The quiet days. The pressure to keep creating even when you’re tired, uninspired, or full of doubt.
No one tells you that a tiny voice in your head can make you freeze for days. That some projects light you up, and others you take just to pay the bills. That some months feel full of momentum, and others feel like you’re invisible.
But there’s also something kind of magical in all this: You’re choosing yourself. You’re building something real — slowly, imperfectly, but truly yours.
I don’t have everything figured out. I’m still organizing my work, still learning how to share it, still finding the courage to write posts like this. But I want to say it anyway: this path isn’t perfect.
It’s messy. It’s emotional. It’s uncertain. But it’s also yours. And that alone makes it worth it. ✨
